These are the terms on which you may use our website (https://schoolfoodproject.org.uk). Please read them before you use it.
By using the site, you confirm that you accept these terms and agree to follow them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a significant change, we’ll let you know. The current version will always be posted on this page.
Who we are
The site is operated by Chefs in Schools (we, us, our). We are a charity registered in England and Wales (charity number 1178964) and a company limited by guarantee (company number 11356489). Our registered office is at c/o Azets, First Floor, River House, 1 Maidstone Road, Sidcup, Kent, DA14 5RH.
We operate the site on behalf of The School Food Project — an initiative by a coalition of five organisations: Chefs in Schools, The Food Foundation, School Food Matters, Bite Back, and Ministry of Food by Jamie Oliver.

What the site offers
Our site has two main areas:
- A public area. free to access, with news, information, and resources about school food in England.
- The Resource & Training Hub, a members’ area where registered users can access e-learning courses, training resources, livestream learning sessions, and tools to help improve school food. Some Hub content is available to all users; other content is only accessible to certain users as part of specific project programmes.
The site is intended for adults based in England. It is primarily aimed at school food professionals, school leaders, and local authority staff, though parents and others with an interest in school food are welcome.
There are other terms which also apply to your use of our site, including: our Privacy Policy which explains how we collect, use and store your personal data; our Cookie Policy which sets out information about the cookies on our site; and, if you purchase any services from our site, our General Terms apply to sales.
Creating a Hub account
Where you access the Hub, you’ll need to register and create an account. We will let you know when you create an account what level of access you are entitled to. When you register, you must be at least 18 years old, provide accurate and up-to-date information, keep your password confidential and not share it with anyone else, and tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed by someone else – email us at [email protected].
We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms or misuse the site.
You’re responsible for anyone who accesses the site through your account or your internet connection.
Using our content
All content on this site — including text, images, videos, course materials, resources, and accreditation materials — belongs to us or our coalition partners. Those works are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You may view, download, and print content for your own personal or professional use, share links to pages on our site, and use and share our resources within your school or organisation for the purposes they’re intended.
You must not copy or reproduce substantial parts of our content for other purposes without our permission. You must not modify or adapt our content, use our content for commercial purposes (including selling or licensing it to others) without first obtaining a licence from us, or remove or obscure any authorship credit or attribution.

Our trade marks and branding
“The School Food Project” name and logo, “Chefs in Schools” name and logo, and the names and logos of our coalition partners are trade marks or branding of their respective owners. You must not use them without written permission, unless your use falls within what’s permitted in the “Using our content” section.
Content you upload or post
Some parts of our site allow you to upload or post content (for example, in forum discussions or community areas). Where you do, you confirm the content is accurate and doesn’t infringe anyone else’s rights and you take responsibility for it. You also grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the site and in connection with the project.
We may remove content that doesn’t meet our standards without notice. See our Acceptable Use Policy for details.
User-generated content doesn’t represent our views, and we don’t verify it before it’s posted.
NO SCRAPING OR AUTOMATED ACCESS
You must not use automated tools, including bots, crawlers, or scrapers, to access, copy, or index content from our site. This includes using our content to develop, train, or validate artificial intelligence systems or models.
This clause constitutes an express reservation of rights for the purposes of Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790.
Linking to our site
You’re welcome to link to our homepage, as long as you do so fairly and lawfully and don’t suggest we endorse your site or organisation. You must not frame our site within another website, link to our site in a way that could damage our reputation, or create a link from a site you don’t own without permission.
We may withdraw linking permission at any time. If you’d like to discuss a link or content partnership, please contact us.
Security and viruses
We take reasonable steps to keep the site secure, but we can’t guarantee it will always be free from viruses or other harmful content. Please use your own virus protection software.
You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our site or any connected systems, introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful material, or carry out a denial-of-service attack or similar interference. Doing any of these things may be a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We’ll report any such breach to the relevant authorities and may share your details with them.

Our site may contain links to websites operated by third parties. These are provided for your convenience only. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. A link doesn’t mean we endorse or approve of the linked site.
Our responsibility to you
Our public site is free to access and the content is for general information only. It isn’t intended to be professional advice. You should seek appropriate specialist advice before acting on anything you read here.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else we can’t legally exclude.

We may update, suspend, or withdraw all or part of the site at any time. We’ll try to give reasonable notice of significant changes or interruptions, but we can’t always do so. We’re not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by a change or withdrawal.
Governing law
These terms are governed by English law. If you’re a consumer, the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to your right to bring proceedings in Scotland or Northern Ireland if you’re resident there. If you’re a business, you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
